Overview & Highlights

Located in the heart of Torrox, Málaga, Cafeteria Asador Torrox is a true culinary gem that beautifully captures the essence of traditional Spanish rotisserie cuisine. Nestled on Av. de Competa, this charming restaurant welcomes diners into a warm, relaxed atmosphere where locals and visitors alike gather to savor some of the area's best-roasted dishes.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the rotisserie chicken, hailed by patrons as "fantastic" and "to die for." Succulent, perfectly seasoned, and roasted to golden perfection, each bite practically melts in your mouth, releasing a symphony of smoky, tender flavors. Whether you enjoy it at the spacious tables inside or opt for takeaway, the chicken paired with crisp, golden chips and a dollop of creamy aioli promises pure comfort and satisfaction. Regulars recommend pre-ordering the chicken, especially during busy periods when it tends to sell out quickly—an easy testament to its popularity.

But the delight doesn't stop there. The richly diverse menu caters to all cravings, with offerings ranging from fresh, flaky fish to flavorful pizzas, and even unique delicacies like perfectly cooked pigs’ cheeks that showcase the chef’s dedication to authentic, traditional fare. For lunch, a serving of the grilled meats and berenjenas (eggplants) delivers a beautifully balanced, smoky freshness that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

Dessert enthusiasts are in for a treat, too. The homemade rice pudding, described as the best one has ever tasted, is a creamy, comforting finale that lingers with gentle cinnamon and vanilla notes—a sweet embrace after a savory feast.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Cafeteria Asador Torrox exudes genuine warmth and community spirit. It's a hub where locals mingle with expats, families enjoy hearty meals together, and friendly staff—like the charming and efficient waitress Amelie—make you feel instantly welcome. The ambiance is casual yet vibrant, offering an authentic taste of Andalusian hospitality without the touristy trappings. The spotless facilities, including clean restrooms, also reflect the restaurant’s commitment to quality and guest comfort.

Whether you drop in after a day of exploring Torrox or pause for a casual evening meal, the restaurant’s blend of generous portions and authentic flavors ensures a deeply satisfying experience. Just be sure to arrive with an appetite and perhaps a little patience during peak times—because such well-loved quality is naturally in demand.

If you're seeking a true taste of Málaga’s culinary heritage wrapped in an inviting local setting, Cafeteria Asador Torrox stands out as an essential stop that will leave you not just full, but genuinely pleased and eager to return.

The rotisserie chicken is fantastic do try it! Lovely local atmosphere very friendly and great food.

Love this place - our favourite in all of Torrox. Chicken is to die for but a great full menu to - all beautifully cooked. Fish, pizzas and delicacies such as pigs cheeks too. Can eat in or take away the rotisserie chicken. Popular with whole family our kids love it too! Love that it is full of locals and not touristy, but always made welcome. Recommend the rotisserie chicken, chips, aleoli and salad. We also love the chicken liver tapas. Deserts are yum too. Great value and friendly efficient service. On the road but in a pretty spot with plants and tiled mural showing transitions of the town. Great spot to watch comings and goings of village. Don’t be surprised if customers pull up on horse back. Also have a large indoor restaurant for colder months. Never disappointed! Recommend!!!

Great food and service. The portions are very generous, so be ready to eat. Just know that the Asador does a a lot of of takeaway, so they sometimes sell out of the chicken pretty quickly. You might want to think about pre ordering earlier in the day. That being said, I've never had a bad meal there, so you can't go wrong. Casual and relaxed atmosphere.

We arrived as they were closing. However , the fantastic waitress organised chicken and chips (gorgeous) and some dessert. Outstanding food and dessert. Mix of locals and tourists made for a great atmosphere..

Stopped here late afternoon after along afternoon at a local hospital. Had half a chicken and chips each which was really good. Great staff; clean toilets.

Popular with both Spanish and ExPats, Service is friendly, there will be a delay during busy times. Coffee is not the best in my opinion it is rather bitter I think possibly they need to clean the machine more frequently, plus mine had obviously been made a while before I got it as it was warm with a skin on top. I had a better one on a previous visit. The photo shows a half ración of the roast chicken - the chicken was plentiful and moist with a delicious Herby flavour ( ? Thyme) to it. The mixed salad, lettuce, grated carrot, tomato, cucumber, raw onion, sweet corn, olives, hard boiled egg and a small spoon of tuna, would make a lovely light lunch on its own,as well as an accompaniment dish, good fresh produce, and generous portions, Tapas of Bread , and very nice olives (complimentary) small bottle of cold still water plus I had a cafe con leche the bill was €16.30 which i think is very good. Well behaved dogs are tolerated outside (do ask permission first don't assume) but not inside,( I only asked about inside on the off chance as on Wednesday mornings a friendly Art class meets inside, and I wanted to attend but can't leave my dog alone for that long at present) A Pleasant venue to meet friends whether for a drink or a meal, as a lone woman I felt safe, and relaxed. If I lived in the town it would be a regular spot for me. It is also close to the free carpark, about a 3 minute walk downhill.

Great little place for lunch. Excellent berenjenas and grilled meat. But the absolute best was the homemade rice pudding. Best I’ve ever had in my life.

Just brilliant roast chicken....and a great friendly waitress called Amelie who was so efficient- then we found out it was her first day?! Highly recommend this asador. Very clean toilets too
